The Australian Consulate-General in Kolkata promotes Australia's trade, commercial and investment interests in the eastern and north east Indian states of West Bengal, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Odisha, Sikkim and Tripura. The Consulate-General also helps safeguard the interests of Australians living, working and visiting India in these states.
About the Consul-General
Mr Boylan is a career officer with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and was most recently Economic Counsellor at the Australian High Commission in New Delhi. He has also served overseas in Islamabad, Pakistan.
In Canberra he was international and strategic adviser to the Minister for Defence (2020-2021).
Mr Boylan has also worked on multiple Australian free trade agreements, including the Australia-India Economic Cooperation and Trade Agreement, the Australia-United Kingdom Free Trade Agreement, the Indonesia-Australia Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement, the Singapore-Australia Free Trade Agreement and the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership.
Mr Boylan holds a Master of Social Science from the University of Oxford, a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) and a Bachelor of Creative Arts (Hons) from the University of Melbourne.

The Australian Consulate-General Kolkata is open from 8.30am to 4.30pm Mondays to Fridays, except for public holidays.
