For consular enquiries, call the Australian Consulate-General Kolkata on +91 11 4910 5980 from 09:00 am to 5:00 pm IST, Monday to Friday, except Australian Consulate-General holidays.
For Australians requiring consular assistance outside the above mentioned times, please call the Consular Emergency Centre in Australia on +61 2 6261 3305 from outside Australia or on 1300 155 135 within Australia.
Notarial services
Notarial services are only available where the documents are Australian in origin or intended for use in Australia. Fees apply for these services.
Notarial Services we can provide:
- Certifying copies of original Australian documents or documents intended for use in Australia
- issuing an Authentication or Apostille certificate (verifying a signature, stamp, or seal on an Australian public document)
- witnessing of signatures on certain Australian documents
- the taking of Australian Statutory declarations being made for use in Australia by an Australian entity
- the administering of affidavits, oaths, and affirmations for use in Australian court or legal proceedings
- issuing a Certificate of no Impediment to marry in India (refer to Getting Married in India for further information)

The Australian Consulate-General Kolkata provides notarial services by appointment only during our standard opening hours (9:00 am to 5:00 pm IST, Monday to Friday, except Australian Consulate-General holidays). Please email [email protected] in advance for an appointment. We will send you confirmation of your appointment time and other important information, including any applicable fees.
Passport services
The Australian Consulate-General Kolkata is not currently providing passport services. Passport services will continue to be provided by the Australian High Commission New Delhi, until further notice. See Services for Australians for more information.
